The Backyard You Keep Choosing

Hardscaping is where all our trades show up in one yard: the flagstone underfoot, the seat wall wrapping the fire pit, the stone-faced island holding the grill, the concrete and pavers tying it together. Around Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena and across the Los Angeles area we design and build outdoor living spaces that get used year-round — because if a backyard works anywhere on earth, it works in Los Angeles.

Our finished projects tell the story better than a list: a flagstone patio with a fire pit and curved concrete bench where a lawn used to be; a gazebo-shaded outdoor kitchen with a stone island and a waterfall feature beside it; a rooftop terrace fire feature with glass rail and a skyline view. Every one is on the work page, and every one started as a homeowner describing an evening they wanted to have.

Fire Features: The Gravity Well of Every Yard

Put a fire pit in a yard and watch where everyone ends up. We build them in stone, block and concrete - round, square and rectangular, wood-burning where allowed and gas with lava rock or fire glass where cleaner control wins - usually paired with the seat wall or built-in bench that turns a flame into a room. Gas runs, burners and ignition get installed to code with the right trades on the line work.

The setting matters as much as the feature: a fire pit sunk in a flagstone field reads organic, one rising from a paver terrace reads architectural, and a rooftop or view-lot fire feature turns a skyline into wallpaper. We design the pairing to the property - and to the wind, smoke and clearance realities of each site.

Outdoor Kitchens That Actually Get Cooked In

An outdoor kitchen is masonry with plumbing ambitions: block-core islands faced in stone or stucco, counters in stone or concrete, and cutouts sized to the grill, burners, fridge and storage you actually plan to use. We build the structure and coordinate the utility connections, under a pergola or gazebo where shade makes August cooking humane.

The layout conversation is the important one - prep space where you need it, clearances that let two people work, and the island placed so the cook faces the party instead of the fence. Build it around how you host, and it gets used weekly instead of admired quarterly.

From Bare Yard to Finished Outdoor Room

Our favorite projects start with dirt and end with a place: patio floor set, walls and levels defined, fire and food stations built, planting pockets and turf ribbons softening the stone. Because the masonry all comes from one crew, the materials talk to each other - the bench matches the wall, the wall matches the patio banding, and the whole yard reads as one design instead of a collection of purchases.

We are happy to build from your landscape designer's plan or to design-build directly from a conversation and a tape measure. Either way you get honest sequencing (what pours first, what cures when), one point of contact, and a finish date that means something. The before-and-afters in our work show the distance a yard can travel.

How We Work

How a Job With Camberos Runs

From the first look at the site to the final walk-through, here is exactly how it goes.

1

See the Site

We look at the project where it lives: the grade, the access, what is being held back or built on, and what you want the finished space to look like.

2

Straight Quote

You get a written quote with a real timeline. It spells out materials, finishes, demolition and haul-off, and flags permit or engineering questions before anything is built.

3

We Build It

Proper base and footings, clean courses, real drainage behind every wall. The details you cannot see are the reason the work lasts, and we treat them that way.

4

Final Walk-Through

We walk the finished work together — joints, finishes, cleanup, the whole job. Done means you have looked at every part of it and said so.

How much does an outdoor living project cost in Los Angeles?
The range is enormous because the scope is: a fire pit and small patio is one budget, a full outdoor kitchen and terraced yard is another. We scope it at the site, break the quote into phases when that helps the budget, and tell you where each dollar goes. Phasing a master plan over two seasons is common and smart.
Wood-burning or gas fire pit?
Gas wins on control, cleanliness and code-friendliness - instant on, no smoke, no embers, legal in more situations. Wood wins on ritual and crackle where open burning is allowed. Many LA-area jurisdictions restrict wood-burning features, so we confirm the rules for your address before designing the feature.
Can you build the whole backyard, or just the masonry pieces?
The hardscape is ours end to end - floors, walls, fire, kitchen structures, borders. Softscape, irrigation and shade carpentry come from trusted trades we coordinate with regularly, or your own landscaper. Either way the project runs as one schedule with one person answering for it.
How long does a backyard build take?
A patio-and-fire-pit project typically runs one to a few weeks. Full outdoor kitchens and multi-level yards run longer with utility work and curing time in the sequence. You get a realistic timeline up front, and daily communication when we are on site.
Do outdoor kitchens and fire features need permits?
Often, yes - gas lines and electrical always involve permitted trade work, and built structures can trigger review depending on the city and the size. We flag what your project needs during design so the paperwork is handled before the first block is set, not after a correction notice.
