Brick masonry is the trade the rest of our work grew out of, and around Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena and across the Los Angeles area it never goes out of style: garden and property walls, front steps and porches, walkways, planters, mailbox columns, and full brick driveways laid in herringbone and basket-weave patterns. We lay brick the traditional way — proper footings, tight joints, clean courses — because brick done right is measured in decades, not seasons.
A lot of brick work in LA is also repair and matching: extending a wall the last owner built, rebuilding a settled porch, or tying new work into original 1920s brick without the seam showing. And where a solid brick structure is not the goal, brick and stone veneer puts the same face on a block or framed wall at a lighter weight. Either way, you get real masonry, not a lookalike.

A brick driveway is one of the strongest curb-appeal moves a house can make — and one of the least forgiving to build. The base does the real work: excavation to the right depth, compacted base rock, a setting bed that drains, and edges restrained so the field never spreads under a parked car. We build the base like the driveway depends on it, because it does, then lay the pattern tight so the surface reads as one piece.
The same discipline applies at walking scale. Walkways, garden paths and porch landings get the same compacted base and edge restraint, scaled to foot traffic. Where an existing concrete path is sound, thin brick can go over it; where it is cracked and heaving, we say so and price the honest fix instead of a cover-up.
Brick veneer earns its keep on the front of a house: a plain stucco or block wall becomes a brick wall for a fraction of the weight and cost of solid masonry. We install full-thickness and thin veneer over new and existing walls, with the flashing and ties that keep veneer attached and dry — the parts you never see and absolutely need.
Steps and porches are where brick work gets judged up close. Risers even to the fraction of an inch, treads pitched to shed water, bullnose edges where bare feet and shins live. It is detail work, and it is the difference between brick that looks hired out and brick that looks built for the house.
Los Angeles neighborhoods run deep on brick character — Pasadena and Glendale especially, where Craftsman and Spanish houses set the tone and new work has to respect it. We help you pick brick that fits the house and the street: size, color range, texture, and the mortar tone that ties it together. Bring a photo of a driveway or wall you love and we will tell you exactly what it takes to build it.
Brick also plays well with the rest of the yard. We pair it with concrete bands and steps, paver fields, and retaining walls finished to match the house — one contractor, one look, no seams between trades.

We look at the project where it lives: the grade, the access, what is being held back or built on, and what you want the finished space to look like.
You get a written quote with a real timeline. It spells out materials, finishes, demolition and haul-off, and flags permit or engineering questions before anything is built.
Proper base and footings, clean courses, real drainage behind every wall. The details you cannot see are the reason the work lasts, and we treat them that way.
We walk the finished work together — joints, finishes, cleanup, the whole job. Done means you have looked at every part of it and said so.
