Altadena has always been a masonry town - the stone gateposts and river-rock walls of Janes Village and Christmas Tree Lane, brick porches on the President Streets, garden walls that outlasted every trend since the twenties. The Eaton Fire took a terrible toll on this community, and rebuilding it is now the work of years. We approach that work the way neighbors should: useful, honest, and respectful of what this town is putting back together.
For families and builders rebuilding, masonry is a real part of the picture - reinforced block walls along property lines, retaining walls on the sloped lots, brick and stone that carries a home's character forward, and hardscape that meets California's push toward ember-resistant ground around houses. And for the many Altadena homes that still stand, the everyday work continues: repairs, walls, driveways and outdoor living, same as ever.
Tell us about your project — we’ll get right back to you.
Anyone who walked Altadena after the fire noticed the same thing: the block walls, stone gateposts and masonry chimneys were often what remained standing. Masonry is the non-combustible part of a property, and the rebuild rules lean into that - California's Zone 0 direction calls for ember-resistant, non-combustible ground in the first five feet around structures, which makes block, stone, concrete and pavers the default materials where landscaping used to burn.
The county has worked to make rebuilding navigable - the Altadena One-Stop Permit Center on Woodbury Road, a unified permit process with ten-business-day first reviews, like-for-like allowances, and fee waivers for owner-occupants rebuilding their own homes. Our part is smaller and concrete: walls and hardscape built right, scheduled around your builder, quoted plainly, with surviving masonry assessed honestly - some of it can be saved and matched, and we will tell you which.
Most of Altadena still lives its normal life against the mountains, and the foothill masonry needs are what they have always been: retaining walls where lots step up toward the canyons, river-rock and stone repairs on the historic walls, driveways and paths that handle the grade, and backyard fire features built safely in a town that understands fire better than anywhere.
We work Altadena as part of our Pasadena-La Cañada foothill corridor, so scheduling is real and local. Written quotes are free, and if a project belongs with another trade first - grading, structural, utilities - we will say exactly that.

This was a great company to work with. Francisco communicates in detail verbally and in writing. He also does excellent work and has a great staff. He also left my place clean daily before they left. They show up on time and get the job done as projected.
Francisco and his crew are great! They repaired a brick wall for me when other companies said it had to be demolished and couldn't be repaired. They were prompt and friendly and did a great job. I would highly recommend them!
We are extremely pleased with the outstanding work completed by Camberos Masonry. The best word to describe their work is immaculate! … The crew worked tirelessly, paid attention to every detail, and left the job site clean and organized each day.
Francisco and his team are the best! They can do anything. They built us a fireplace, rebuilt a balcony and repaved our backyard. One of our best hires ever!
Camberos Masonry provided services recently involving repairing/restoring a very old natural stone wall as well as repairing mortar joints/cracks in natural stone pathways at a circa 1930 property. We found the crew to be hard working, diligent, reliable, creative problem solvers.
Francisco came on time to give me a very fair price to extend a brick patio, replace some flagstone and repair a low brick wall. His workers were efficient and did an excellent job … I highly recommend him.
Francisco came over quickly to scope out the work and plan it out with me. His crew came out and cut the concrete, leveled the ground, removed old tree roots and removed the cracked concrete slab in-front of my entrance, and poured the concrete in just 2 days! I'm very pleased with the final product.
Absolutely wonderful to work with. They were professional, cleaned-up after the work was done. The work was done on time and was gorgeous. We highly recommend them.
Francisco gave me a very competitive quote on a cinder block wall extension. His guys showed up on time and finished quickly. They had to deal with a tree trunk and did a great job. I'd hire again gladly.
Working with the Camberos Team was a great experience! Francisco was very honest and down to earth. … Their prices were very fair and the detailed work they did was superb!
Very experienced and hard-working crew. Work done on time and on budget! Did the pool renovation, tile work, landscape lights, etc.
Francisco came over and asked relevant questions before providing a detailed estimate. … Francisco and his crew were timely and responsive. He kept me updated as to their progress and as to the reason for any delay. The end result was better than expected.
Francisco came over the same day to measure and give us a quote for demolishing and rebuilding a brick fence and concrete patio. He was professional, friendly, thorough, and worked with us to provide several options within our budget and schedule.
We were so happy with his team that we hired him to build a stone and marble fireplace for our new home. They did such an amazing job! We had a short window of time to get it done and they went out of their way to make that happen.
The two pros he sent over were efficient and did a great job. I would recommend these guys and look forward to contacting them with future projects.
These guys did such a great job on our front yard! … They also put in a cement wall around the yard with pillars. They always showed up on time, were very friendly, and did a phenomenal job.
